Morning Keynote: Richard Bird, Client Director, Optiv

Richard Bird is an information technology, risk and information security executive with over 25 years of experience. Prior to joining Optiv, Bird held several senior executive positions including executive director, global head of identity services for JPMorgan Chase, global head of information security and risk (CISO) for Mettler-Toledo, Inc. and segment risk officer for information security at Huntington National Bank. In addition, he has held senior positions with Accenture and as a chief information officer for the world’s largest hedge fund administration firm. Richard is widely known for being a pragmatic and often contrarian voice on the topics of information security, risk and control. Bird speaks frequently on next-generation identity management solutions as well as the control and operational implications of regulatory changes. He has been a champion for identity-centric security for a number of years, both as a corporate executive and as an executive advisor.

Featured Keynote: Clifford Stoll

Clifford Stoll, an MSNBC commentator, lecturer, and Berkeley astronomer, gained worldwide attention as a cyberspace sleuth when he wrote his best–selling book, The Cuckoo’s Egg: Tracking a Spy Through the Maze of Computer Espionage, a page turning true story of how he caught a ring of hackers who stole secrets from military computer systems and sold them to the KGB. He has become a leading authority on computer security, presenting to the CIA, NSA and the U.S. Senate. He is also the author of Silicon Snake Oil: Second Thoughts on the Information Highway, and High-Tech Heretic: Reflections of a Computer Contrarian. As one who loves computers as much as he disdains them, he admits to being deeply ambivalent about them, and questions the role of networks in our culture. Clifford covers everything from why computers have to be so darned “ugly” to the cultural aftershocks of living in a high-tech society. His lecture presentations are energetic and entertaining, and showcase Clifford’s dry wit and penetrating views.
