Major Dan “Noonan” Rooney is a fighter pilot with 3 combat tours in Iraq, a PGA Golf Professional, and the founder of the Folds of Honor. He has served as the motivational speaker for two U.S Ryder Cup teams and is a frequent guest with FOX News. A decorated military aviator, Major Rooney is currently stationed at Tyndall AFB Florida as a member of 301st Fighter Squadron. He is a two-time recipient of the Top Gun award and has received many decorations to include the Distinguished Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Anti-terrorism Medal, and Air Expeditionary Medal.

Major Rooney is the driving force behind Folds of Honor, which raised over $100 million and awarded over 13,000 scholarships to the family members of KIA or disabled soldiers.

For his service and patriotism—Rooney was presented the White House's “Presidential Volunteer Service Award” by President George W. Bush, the Air National Guard’s “Directors Service Award” and the Ellis Island “Medal of Honor.” He was honored at The Masters Invitational with the “William D. Richardson Award” for his outstanding contributions to golf and received the PGA of America's first-ever “Patriot Award.” He has been recognized as one of People Magazine's “Heroes of the Year,” Money Magazine’s “Hero of the Year” and ABC World News Tonight's “Persons of the Year.”

Rooney founded The Patriot, a Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed course in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Patriot is home to the Folds of Honor Foundation headquarters.

Major Rooney is the author of A Patriot’s Calling – Living Life Between Fear and Faith and the proud father of five daughters.

Is there a fee to participate?

No, OptivCon is a complimentary event.

How do I earn CPEs for attending?

Attendees will be asked to sign in with their (ISC)2 member number at the registration desk during the event. Optiv will submit 6 CPE credits directly to (ISC)2 for attendees. If a certificate is required for an organization other than (ISC)2, Optiv will provide one upon request.

What time should I arrive at the event?

Vendor exhibits, registration and breakfast open at 8:00 a.m. The morning keynote begins promptly at 8:45 a.m.

Do I have to choose a breakout track?

We ask all registrants to choose a breakout track of interest. Optiv doesn't require that you attend only sessions in that breakout track. Please attend any sessions that are of interest to you.

What can I expect from the breakout sessions?

These sessions will focus around the overarching topics of compliance, operational efficiency and risk management.

Arrowhead Stadium is an American football stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. It primarily serves as the home venue of the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL).

It is part of the Truman Sports Complex with adjacent Kauffman Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB). Arrowhead Stadium has a seating capacity of 76,416, making it the 27th largest stadium in the United States and the sixth largest NFL stadium. It is also the largest sports facility by capacity in the state of Missouri.

– From the West: I-70 East to the Manchester Exit, go South on Manchester to Gate 5
– From the South: I-435 North to Raytown Road/Stadium Drive Exit and enter Gate 5
– From the North: I-435 South to I-70 East to the Blue Ridge Cutoff exit; South on Blue Ridge Cutoff to Gate 2
